Frequently Asked Questions

I have never done yoga before. Are your classes suitable for beginners?

Yes! My classes are designed to be accessible for everyone, whether you are completely new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner. Each session blends yoga, body balancing techniques, and myofascial release (self-massage) to support your body during pregnancy and beyond. You don’t need any prior experience to benefit, just come as you are.

Can I join the course partway through the term?

While you are welcome to join partway if space allows, I recommend attending the full 9-week course for the best experience. Each week builds on the last, covering specific themes like breath, mobility, core connection, pelvic floor support, and preparation for birth or postpartum recovery. The classes are an integrated approach to help you move through pregnancy and early motherhood with confidence and ease.

What if I have a planned induction or C-section?

If you are preparing for an induction, both the Prenatal Yoga Course and the Breathe Move Birth Workshop are ideal. You will learn tools that support you during induced labour, like breath techniques, movement, and mindset practices.

If you have a planned C-section, the Prenatal Yoga Course will still help you feel more comfortable in your pregnancy, and promote better recovery after birth.

I have symptoms like diastasis recti, pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, or pelvic floor issues. Can I still come to class?

Absolutely. These classes are especially supportive for those managing common pregnancy or postpartum symptoms. The movements and techniques we use may help relieve discomfort and support your body in healing and adapting through each stage.

Can I join postnatal yoga before 6 weeks postpartum?

If your birth was uncomplicated and you feel ready to get out and about with your baby, you are welcome to join before 6 weeks postpartum. These Postnatal (Mums & Bubs) Yoga classes are restorative, and designed to help you reconnect with your body. You will build foundational strength, release tension, and prepare for more intense exercise when you are ready.

What if my baby cries during postnatal yoga class?

That’s completely normal and expected! Babies cry, feed, and need cuddles. Our postnatal classes are flexible and baby-friendly. We go with the flow and adjust the pace to meet the needs of the group. You will be in a supportive space with other parents who understand.

Can I join the Breathe Move Birth Workshop if I dont have a partner?

Yes, you can absolutely join even if you don’t have a spouse or the baby’s other parent attending. You are encouraged to bring any birth partner, this could be a friend, family member, or support person who will be with you during labour. The workshop is designed for both you and your support person to learn practical tools and build confidence and trust in the birthing process.

How do you work with my midwife or healthcare team?

Your midwife or doctor focuses on the medical side of care, my role as a yoga and movement specialist, birth educator, and doula is to support your body awareness, comfort, and confidence throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Whether you are joining a class, a private session, or having me as your doula, my goal is to help you feel calm, informed, and well supported alongside your wider care team.

What is the Body Ready Method®?

The Body Ready Method® is a movement and education system that helps you prepare your body intentionally for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It focuses on alignment, mobility, and balance, especially in the core, upper body, pelvis, and pelvic floor, helping your body move more efficiently and comfortably through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Body Ready Method® has certified pros all over the world, and I am honoured to be one of them, as well as part of their teaching assistant team.

What is myofascial release?

Myofascial release is a gentle self-massage technique that targets tension in your body’s connective tissues (the fascia). By easing tightness and restoring balance, it can improve movement, comfort, and overall wellbeing. I incorporate these techniques in my classes and sessions to help you release restrictions, breathe more fully, and move with greater ease.
